2021 ARM Mali G710 The
Arm Mali G710 is the mobile GPU in the upcoming smartphone processor.
But it doesn’t end there, there is still one generation released in 2022.
ARM comparison shows the latest graphics, GPU Speed Mali G76, G77, G78, G710 and the next generation.
The speed of the Mali G76 is only half the capabilities of the Mali G710, only an increase of about 35% faster than the generation of the Mali G78.

The ARM Mali G710 series is the highest model, below it with the G610, G510 and G310.

From the ARM company, the Mali GPU in the future will improve Ray Tracing performance in smartphones through hardware.
ARM’s partnership with Mediatek and Tencent Game makes it easier to use chips and optimize GPU performance.
ARM is the chip designer, Mediatek is the chip manufacturer, and Tencent is the App developer.

Mediatek has Mediatek HyperEngine for rendering games.
It seems that Mediatek wants to adopt the latest GPU in the Dimensity series which is currently used as a 5G CPU model.
But big changes will be seen in 2022, even though ARM doesn’t mention the GPU model in the

2017 Mali Cetus
ARM Mali-Cetus is a graphics development on smartphones by ARM architect called Mali D71.
But this one is different, and supports high res display technology and multi-tasking like the Android OS trend.
Arm says ARM Mali-Cetus works with 4K x 2K displays at 120Hz. So the screen can be separated with 4K resolution with the settings of the GPU processor.

ARM Mali-Cetus or GPU Cetus is more power efficient. Like computer devices, smartphones use processors. Inside the smartphone processor there is a graphics unit or GPU. The development between CPUs called 4 cores or 8 cores to 10 cores in smartphones, is separate from the GPU capabilities even though it is packaged in a single chip unit.
The development of smartphone processors / CPUs and GPUs follows technological trends. From the display capabilities of a sharper smartphone screen resolution. Internet connection technology up to 4G LTE is getting faster.

Including graphics technology on the smartphone screen. Although the screen size looks small, the image resolution displayed is very dense from HD 720p, Full HD 1080P, 2K to 4K.
Along with the development of smartphone screen densities up to 4K, more adequate processor or GPU graphics are needed. Plus the ability of the Android Nougat OS that supports multi-tasking systems also requires image processing on the GPU chip.
When the CPU is fast and multi-core, the GPU also follows the hardware and software capabilities of the smartphone.

GPUs from ARM processor architects use the nameArm Cortex , and mobile device graphics are more commonly called ARM Mali
Like the ARM Mali model T800 series, with the T860, T830, T820 and Mali V550 designed for Full HD Display and 4K in 2014.
ARM Mali G51 which is more power efficient than the ARM series Mali 800 and V61 series specifically for processing video / VPU returned in 2016.

The previous generation of Mali architect graphics was only optimized for displaying an image of 1600p at 50 frames per second.
While the Mali Cetus graphics have display capabilities up to 4K 90fps.
Later it will not be limited to image processing on the smartphone screen.

Below is for multimedia use.

Here is an interesting piece of ARM Mali Cetus technology
ARM Mali Cetus is more supportive of new technology needs. With HDR image output or VR technology.
The capabilities of the Android Nougat OS can be utilized by the Cetus GPU with a multitasking system.
Image composition processed with 8 UI layers when one main image is displayed, or 4 display images but only 2 images appear on the front screen.
Co-Processor Interface. Manufacturers may use different hardware.
Image features HDR10, Hyrid Log-Gamma/HLG and Dolby vision.

Below are the features of the Mali Cetus GPU chip displayed by the ARM chip designers.

ARM architect Mali Cetus is called the Mali D71. The Mali D71 GPU technology will debut in early 2019.
